How Do I Start Recycling?
Well in answer to this I would say start small. The problem with any new idea is that you could crash and burn. Most of us don't get started because we believe that our small contribution won't make a difference. Well I can tell you that every little bit counts and that instead of looking at what you don't recycle start concentrating on what you do recycle.
What you need to decide first is what are you going to recycle? When deciding this you need to know were the recycling bins are in your area and what they are collecting. Once you know what's available you can decide.
It's probably best to start with the easiest and largest volume of material. In your home it could be paper and cardboard or it could be plastics or aluminium or glass. The real secret here is to start with one of these and then build on your success.
You need your recycling bins to be next to your normal bin. This way it's not difficult to sort as you throw. A good idea for saving space here is to get those stacking plastic boxes with a front opening. That way you'll be using more or less the same amount of space as your original bin.
