What is Recycling?
Recycling is when we take materials from products that we are finished with and use those materials to make something new that we can use. It usually takes less money and fewer resources to make new things from recycled materials.
The Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation (Alupro) is a not-for-profit company which represents the leading aluminium packaging producers and re-processors in the UK. They tell us that "the metal can be simply re-melted - using only around 5% of the energy used in primary production - and can be recycled time and again without loss of quality"
