What can be recycled?
Well most of our household trash can be recycled.
According to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural affairs (defra) we are improving.
They say that ten years ago only 7% of England“s household waste was recycled, now it has risen to 27%, a huge improvement.
There are now many kerbside collection services available so check in your area. If not there are recycling centers where you can take your recyclables yourself.
Try to remember also that many things can be reused before they are recycled.
For example we can use the back of paper and old envelopes for shopping lists and phone messages before we put them into the recycling bin.
You will need to find out what is collected in your area. You should be able to do an online search.
Once you know what you can recycle you can choose from our list on the right to know exactly what can be recycled within each category.
