Global Warming.
What is Global Warming?
Global warming refers to the fact that over the last century the surface temperature of the earth has increased 0.45 - 0.6 degrees Celsius.
It has been the subject of much debate as to whether or not is is a serious environmental issue or a naturally occurring phenomenon.
It is defined as the warming of the earth by greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere naturally or by mankind. These greenhouse gases CO2 being one of them (see carbon footprint explanation) are destroying the ozone layer (see ozone layer page) and therefore the earth is receiving less protection from the sun.
